Pakistan’s role in the United Nations peacekeeping mission has been recognized. The participants of the 28th annual conference of the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Center appreciated Pakistan’s continuous efforts for world peace.
The participants of the annual conference expressed this appreciation to the International closing ceremony of the 28th annual conference of the Association of Peacekeeping Training Center was held at the Center for International Peace and Stability, NUST, Islamabad.
Remember earlier Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir officially started the ceremony with the inauguration of the new building of the International Peace and Stability Center.
Under Secretary General of the Department of Peace Operations, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, United Nations Police Advisor, Acting Deputy Military Advisor and other senior officials were also present at the opening ceremony of the conference.
In the keynote address, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir emphasized that global peace is facing emerging threats and challenges. The plight of innocent Kashmiris and Palestinians, despite numerous peace-building efforts by the United Nations and other institutions, is a stark reminder that much more needs to be done.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that Defense Secretary Lt Gen Retd Muhammad Ali presided over the closing ceremony. He thanked the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Center Secretariat, panelists, participants and the Center for International Peace and Stability for organizing a productive and successful week-long conference on Adaptive Training Strategies for Peace Operations. In the concluding session, delegates were briefed on the fruitful discussions, innovative ideas and proposed initiatives that emerged during the conference.
Emphasis was placed on innovative training methods, increasing technology integration, empowering women’s participation in peace building, and the importance of information integrity.
The conference also highlighted the importance of international cooperation to address emerging challenges to peacekeeping. Former President of the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centre, Brigadier General Joyce (Kenya) formally inaugurated the Principal Nest Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies handed over the presidency to Raja Aftab Khan.

The undisputed professionalism of the Pakistani forces has made them the inspiration of every Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Force Commander in every UN peacekeeping mission. In this regard, Pakistan’s commitment to the United Nations has been recognized by the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, who himself visited Pakistan and inaugurated the Center for International Peace and Stability on 13 August 2013 and the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission.
