ISLAMABAD (Urdu Times) Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Uzbek envoy discuss strengthening bilateral ties

ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Chairman Senator Irfan Siddiqui on Tuesday met Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries across diverse sectors.
Senator Siddiqui, accompanied by Senator Sarmad Ali, visited the Embassy of Uzbekistan, where he lauded the growing partnership between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. He underscored the strategic importance of enhancing economic cooperation, boosting trade, and promoting cultural exchanges to bring the two nations closer.
Ambassador Tukhtaev, acknowledging Pakistan’s pivotal role in the region, commended its efforts to ensure peace and stability. He expressed optimism about the future of bilateral relations and outlined various initiatives to expand collaboration, including joint ventures in energy, agriculture, education, and tourism.
Senator Sarmad Ali contributed to the discussions by highlighting the potential for deeper cooperation. He emphasized the shared goals and mutual interests of both nations, stressing the need for sustained dialogue and partnership to unlock new opportunities.
Khalid Taimur Akram, an expert on international relations, also shared his insights on international diplomacy and regional integration, reinforcing the significance of closer ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
The meeting reflected a mutual commitment to advancing cooperation in multiple fields to promote regional stability and economic progress.
