CARETAKER CM CONDUCTED A VISIT TO VARIOUS FACILITIES IN MULTAN
Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi conducted a visit to various facilities in Multan on Tuesday. He inspected Nishtar Hospital-II, Nishtar Hospital’s inn, the cardiology institute, its emergency block extension, and the cotton research institute. Additionally, he met with delegations of traders and lawyers at the circuit house.
During his visit to Nishtar Hospital-II, CM addressed the media, stating, “We are personally taking charge of our responsibilities and not relying on external influences. We are committed to undertaking significant development initiatives. Nishtar Hospital-II is a critical necessity for the residents of Multan and its surrounding areas, and we are determined to make it fully operational with a complete staff of 100% by September. To ensure the functioning of the new hospital, we will not transfer any staff from the existing Nishtar Hospital. While there is a ban on hiring, the election commission has granted permission for the recruitment of doctors, and the recruitment process for doctors and paramedics for Nishtar-II is already underway.”
Mohsin Naqvi acknowledged that the foundation stone of Nishtar-II was laid by PM Shehbaz Sharif, and he intends to invite him to its inauguration. The expansion project for the cardiology institute is set to become fully functional in Multan by the following month. Furthermore, the construction of the new emergency department at the Children’s Hospital, with the assistance of philanthropists, will commence shortly. The newly built DHQ hospital in Multan is also expected to commence operations by the end of August. Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the government’s commitment to completing the ongoing development projects in Multan by allocating the necessary budget.
Mohsin Naqvi visited the under-construction project of Nishtar Hospital-II and inspected various departments of the hospital. The project director provided a comprehensive briefing on the progress of the project. Recognizing the importance of timely completion, Mohsin Naqvi issued clear instructions to expedite the construction process and address any pending matters promptly.
Before his visit to Nishtar Hospital-II, the CM made his way to the cotton research institute, where he inspected the different departments. During the visit, he received a detailed briefing on the various cotton varieties and the cultivation process. Recognizing the significance of safeguarding the cotton industry, the CM emphasized the need for precautionary measures to prevent potential threats. Furthermore, he approved a substantial allocation of one billion rupees to procure essential machinery for the institute. The CM expressed his optimism regarding this year’s cotton cultivation, as the cultivation area has witnessed a notable increase. Anticipating a favorable outcome, he assured that timely arrangements will be made for urea fertilizer and agricultural machinery to cater to the needs of the farmers.
Subsequently, the chief minister proceeded to the institute of cardiology, where he inspected the various departments of the hospital, including the ongoing expansion project. Additionally, he closely monitored the progress of the emergency block project, seeking assurance that it adhered to the predetermined timeline. A comprehensive briefing regarding the project was provided to Mohsin Naqvi, enabling him to gain a deeper understanding of its intricacies.
With a strong commitment to ensuring timely completion and operational functionality, the chief minister emphasized the urgency of finalizing the emergency block project. During his visit to the pharmacy, he engaged with patients, displaying his genuine concern for their well-being. Furthermore, he assessed the facilities in the waiting area for attendants and ordered to further enhance the standard of facilities.
Mohsin Naqvi inspected the water cooler for patients and their attendants, inquiring about the quality of the available facilities. Noting the importance of providing top-notch services, he issued instructions to improve the overall quality of amenities within the hospital. A patient’s appeal caught his attention, and he promptly ordered the immediate resolution of the associated issues, underscoring the values of transparency, quality, and efficiency in the completion of the emergency block project.
The CM inaugurated the operationalization of Nishtar Hospital’s inn and inspected the available facilities. Recognizing the importance of ensuring optimal comfort for attendants, he issued instructions for the installation of air conditioners. In addition, he extended the duration of stay to a round-the-clock service, providing convenience to individuals availing themselves of the inn’s accommodations. Displaying a proactive approach towards enhancing the travel infrastructure, the CM directed the expedited completion of inns in Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi, catering to the needs of attendants in those regions.
According to the briefing, the construction of the three-storey building was successfully concluded at a cost of 977 million rupees. This well-designed facility offers accommodation for 60 men and 32 women, distributed across 10 spacious halls. To ensure a comfortable stay, the inn provides breakfast and dinner services to its guests. The building has been thoughtfully designed with separate dining rooms, kitchens, residential halls, and 20 washrooms, catering to the specific needs of both male and female occupants. These well-appointed amenities contribute to the overall convenience and satisfaction of those utilizing the facility.
Mohsin Naqvi convened meetings with prominent traders and lawyers at the circuit house, engaging in productive discussions and exchanging valuable insights. The traders’ community presented their suggestions during the meeting. Recognizing the significance of the traders’ community, the chief minister emphasized the need for ongoing consultations to address concerns related to market closures. He acknowledged that the prosperity and development of the country hinge on resolving the issues faced by traders. Mohsin Naqvi pledged to prioritize the resolution of legitimate concerns raised by the traders, as it aligns with the government’s economic objectives.
Furthermore, the CM highlighted the importance of expanding the industrial estate in Multan, acknowledging the potential for economic growth and employment opportunities. He directed the authorities to assess the proposal for establishing a cold storage facility near Multan airport, recognizing the benefits it could bring to the region’s agricultural and logistics sectors.
Mohsin Naqvi also met with officials of the district bar associations of Multan, Vehari, and Lodhran. He handed over a grant of one crore rupees for the Multan district bar association and 50 lakh rupees each for the Vehari and Lodhran district bar associations.
Among the attendees were President Waheed Bukhari and General Secretary Altaf Gilani from the Multan DBA, President Liaqat Sampaal and General Secretary Nasir Ahmad from the Vehari DBA, as well as President Kamran Khan and General Secretary Ejaz Sahu from the Lodhran DBA.
Provincial Ministers Amir Mir, Azfar Ali Nasir, Additional Chief Secretary (South Punjab), Commissioner, deputy commissioner, RPO, and others were also present.
