Islamabad ( Urdu Times ) : Economy recovery; Army Chief included in Prime Minister’s Apex Committee
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has established an apex committee for the recovery of the country’s economy, which includes the Army Chief. The Apex Committee will implement the decisions of the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
The government has announced a big plan for economic recovery, which is being described as a ten-year plan bigger than CPEC. The Apex Committee will be chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif while the Army Chief and military officials will also join the Apex Committee. Apart from them, Finance Minister, Planning Minister, Defense Minister, Defense Production Minister, Federal Minister of Food Security, Minister of Information Technology and Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources will also join the committee.
In my opinion the APEX Committee will not be useful unless it is attached to the embassies of Pakistan.
As I am thinking that Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari should have been included in this APEX Committee our trade diplomacy can be most effective in this regard. Five major countries have shown interest in investing heavily in Pakistan.
Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Bahrain are ready to invest heavily in Pakistan. The Apex Committee on Economic Recovery will develop a framework for foreign investment in the country. The Apex Committee will facilitate countries interested in investing in Pakistan.
The APEX Committee will monitor the investment issues of these countries in Pakistan and ensure the investment of these countries in the next 3 years. It should be noted that in the last few years, a new type of diplomacy has been added to international diplomacy, which is also called military diplomacy, defense diplomacy or military diplomacy.
It has become an important component of foreign policy, the importance of which is recognized worldwide.
According to international relations experts, in this diplomacy, the forces of friendly countries take important steps to improve military relations, in which military exercises are conducted and military equipment is bought and sold.
In this way mutual defense cooperation is promoted in the spirit of goodwill between the countries. The primary duty of an ambassador is to best serve the interests of his country. In achieving this goal, all the officers including First Secretary, Consular Defense Attaché, Trade Attaché, Information Consular all assist the Ambassador.
A diplomat acts as a bridge between two countries. There was a time when an ambassador’s main job was to send reports about his host country. Over the past several years, there has been a revolution in the means of communication. Today’s embassies work to promote trade.
Embassies seem preoccupied with increasing defense cooperation with friendly countries. They try to improve the image of their country by building relations with media representatives. They hold film festivals and music concerts to promote their culture.
Diplomacy and defense seem like completely different professions but both are inseparable. These two important professions came into existence when the concept of nations was highlighted.
The element of competition was essential in these states. Hence both aggression and defense began and organized military force became essential for defense. The use of diplomacy was necessary to prevent wars. Two or more countries entered into a friendship agreement to counter a large and aggressive state.
Another misconception was that the army’s job is only to prepare for war or war. Many international conflicts and problems of Pakistan have been resolved in the recent past through successful military diplomacy.
The job of an ambassador in any important country is to take the level of bilateral communication to the level of strategic dialogue. Our ambassadors in the United States and the European Union have achieved this goal. In civil, this work is done by Foreign Service.
On behalf of the Armed Forces, the Army Chief, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Committee visits various countries to discuss the regional and international situation and talk about strengthening bilateral defense.
These high-level defense-style meetings are extremely useful and if the ambassador and defense attaché are good professional officers in that country and the embassy has done its homework well, these meetings become more useful.
It is a well-known saying that good military preparedness is the best guarantee of peace and if good military preparedness is accompanied by high-level diplomacy, defense becomes even stronger. For this reason, embassies are also called the first line of defense.
It is no longer a secret that some important embassies also have people from sensitive institutions. If these people are experts in their work, then the ambassador gets a lot of help. On the other hand, good ambassadors also guide these officers.Despite the difficult economic conditions, the Prime Minister of Pakistan is committed to economic recovery, in this regard, the government has prepared a national plan for the economic recovery of Pakistan, under which the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to remove obstacles in the way of foreign investment has been established. Speaking on the occasion, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir said that the Pakistan Army fully supports the efforts of the government to implement the economic recovery plan and that it is the socio-economic prosperity of Pakistan and its rightful place in the world. Under the project, cooperation will be created between the federal and provincial governments. Lengthy and cumbersome bureaucratic procedures and regulations will be reduced. Cooperation and collaboration mechanism will be adopted. Timely decision-making regarding investments and projects will be ensured while implementation of projects with clear timelines will be ensured. But for this we have to work continuously and hard and keep the country and nations on the path of development and prosperity while maintaining the direction. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan and its people have the right to be sidelined with economic development and prosperity, it is the responsibility of all of us who have been entrusted with this duty by Allah. Considers a reliable ally, an admirable act.

The Prime Minister said that this project of investment of 4.8 dollars by China sends a clear message that Pakistan is a country in which Chinese companies and investors have their trust and faith. Shehbaz Sharif said that China helped us when the agreement with the IMF was delayed, for which they are very grateful to President Xi Jinping.
