Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s visit to Azerbaijan, agreement on cooperation in all fields.

It has been agreed to increase cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan in all fields.
Relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan are also developing in energy, defense, trade, religious and cultural sectors.

Pakistan and Azerbaijan have agreed to increase mutual trade and cooperation in various fields and said that they will have to work together to deal with the current challenges. It should be remembered that Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif arrived in Azerbaijan on a two-day official visit.
He arrived in Azerbaijan at the invitation of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The Prime Minister was warmly welcomed by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the Zgulba Presidential Palace in Baku.
The Prime Minister’s visit is aimed at promoting bilateral relations in the fields of energy, banking, financial services and information technology.
The Prime Minister was received at the Baku airport by First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yakub Ayubov, Deputy Foreign Minister Al-Nur Mamadov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Khizr Farhadov and Ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan Bilal Hai.


The Prime Minister visited Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev’s mausoleum in Baku and also visited Azerbaijan’s Martyrs’ Memorial.
Later, the Prime Minister met with President Ilham Aliyev, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Commerce Minister Syed Naveed Qamar, Information and Broadcasting Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Minister of State for Petroleum Dr. Masdaq Malik and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi were part of the Prime Minister’s delegation.It should be noted that a delegation of ministers of Azerbaijan also met with the Prime Minister to promote trade between the two countries and to cooperate in the energy sector.

Pakistan’s second tender seeks three cargoes at Port Qasim on a DES basis for delivery windows of January 3-4, 28-29 and February 23-24. The second tender will close on July 14.
Pakistan LNG last floated a tender for 10 spot cargoes in July 2022, but no offers were received. In addition, Minister of State for Petroleum Mossadegh Malik said that Azerbaijan would supply one LNG cargo to Pakistan at an “affordable price” per month. An agreement has already been reached with Azerbaijan and will “start soon”. Pakistan has two long-term supply agreements with Qatar, one signed in 2016 for 3.75 million metric tons per year of LNG, and another for 3 million metric tons per year in 2021.
