Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s 70th birthday celebrated.

Two years after the marriage of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Nusrat Bhutto, “Pinky” Benazir Bhutto was born on June 21, 1953 in Pinto Nursing Home Karachi.
Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, being the daughter of her father Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, used to accompany her father on foreign trips as a child.
Benazir Bhutto met many world leaders at an early age. She was also a student leader at Oxford University.
After the arrest of her father, former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, in 1977, she entered the political arena, along with her mother, Begum Nusrat Bhutto, she resisted the dictatorship of General Zia and was imprisoned.
In 1982, Benazir Bhutto was elected as the Chairperson of PPP. After his exile, when he first arrived in Lahore in 1986, he received a historic welcome and toured the entire country.
In 1987, Benazir Bhutto got married to Asif Zardari and after her historic victory in the 1988 general elections, she became the first woman Prime Minister of Pakistan.
When Ms. Benazir Bhutto’s government was dismissed by President Ghulam Ishaq Khan, she again entered the field of struggle.
She was again elected as Prime Minister for the second time in 1993, but was sacked again in 1996.
When Benazir Bhutto returned home on October 18, 2007 after her exile, she was once again given a historic welcome at the Karachi airport, then her convoy was targeted at Karsaz, in which more than 250 people were martyred.
Shaheed Ms. Benazir Bhutto was holding election rallies across the country. In this regard, 16 years ago on the same day, December 27, former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was killed immediately after addressing a public rally in Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi, which was her last election speech before the general elections in the country. His life was also taken as the first Prime Minister of the country Liaquat Ali Khan was killed. Both the Prime Ministers had three values in common. Both of them remained Prime Ministers, were killed in the same place and thirdly, their murders are still shrouded in mystery.
After returning home on October 18, 2007, Benazir’s life continued to be threatened. She ignored the warning of former military president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf on October 18, 2007 before the elections. After his return, he suffered two major suicide attacks on his processions, in which more than 150 people were killed, the majority of them were PPP workers. A few days after the attacks, he identified those people whom he suspected in a letter sent to the relevant authorities. could go
Among them are former military head of state General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, former ISI chief Lt. General (retd) Hameed Gul, Pervez Musharraf’s close aide Brigadier (retd) Ijaz Shah, then Chief Minister Punjab Pervez Elahi, etc.

After that, Benazir Bhutto went to Dubai, meanwhile, on November 3, Pervez Musharraf imposed Emergency Plus and returned, Benazir Bhutto started election campaign. She survived two more attacks and the attackers were caught.

One fell in Peshawar. They were going to commit the crime but were caught. After the October 18, 2007 attack, Benazir’s security team was also changed. The responsibility of security was transferred from Zulfiqar Mirza to Rehman Malik.

On the day of the fatal tragedy, Benazir met the then Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who informed Benazir of the assassination plot, but decided to continue with his plan.

Apart from the police and intelligence agencies, his own team was supposed to provide security, but there was a serious breach of security in Liaquat Bagh where security was not cleared at the entry and exit gates, which allowed the attackers to enter Liaquat Bagh and There was an opportunity to go near Benazir’s car when she started getting down after addressing the rally, there was no security personnel on her right and left. She was going to leave with Naheed Khan, Safdar Abbasi and Makhdoom Amin Fahim.

After sitting in the car, he called PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and inquired about the firing on him. Serious lapses happened one after the other regarding the security, which left Rehman Malik’s security plan open. They should not have been allowed on the roof of the car where security was not provided to Benazir who was shot and died on arrival at the hospital.

Later, questions also arise in the context of the car attack on October 18 regarding the investigation in the PPP government in 2008 and 2013. Why was Benazir Bhutto’s Blackberry phone, the key evidence of the incident, not handed over to the investigators and remained in Rehman Malik’s custody for two years? JIT member Rao Anwar said that is why he did not sign the JIT.

Why Benazir was killed, the answer to this question is still eagerly sought. In 1986, the power circles in Pakistan never accepted Benazir. In 1988, his electoral success was hindered by forming a right-wing coalition, and later he had to agree to conditional power. In 9 months, a no-confidence motion was also brought against him, which was allegedly presented at the behest of former President Ghulam Ishaq Khan. The latter was eventually fired.

In 1990, the PPP was further divided, although years later in the Asghar Khan case, it was proved that the 1990 elections were rigged and the funds were distributed among the opponents.
Even in 1993, Benazir Bhutto’s government was not allowed to complete the constitutional term, her own President Farooq Laghari dismissed her from the Prime Ministership.

Benazir had told herself that she was not receptive to him from day one. In their opinion, a woman should not be the head of the government. A section in the army also had reservations about her being the daughter of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, lest they take revenge for Bhutto’s execution, but General Hamidgul had told in an interview that she was not very patriotic and had no vindictive feelings. In the investigation, Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud was accused of involvement in the murder, which Baitullah denied.

After Benazir, there were changes in the motivations of Pakistani politics and in the PPP itself, but after Benazir, the PPP could not cope again. It has been a busy struggle ever since. Benazir is a classic example that mere popularity does not guarantee power.
The 70th birthday of martyr Ms. Benazir Bhutto is being celebrated across the country.
